Hand Blasters
How do they work? These hand blasters are ceramic balls coated with potassium chlorate, sulfur, glue, and powdered glass. When the two balls collide, the friction between the sand causes a chemical reaction between the potassium chlorate and the sulfur. This reaction gives off energy in the form of heat and sound. 7-11 Slurpee never tasted so good
I was so dehydrated from the temperature at my job and the fact that I gave a consultation in one of the Editing Rooms and a workshop in the Multimedia Room that I needed a Slurpee from 7-11 to keep from passing out after work.
It worked for a few hours before I succumbed to the dizziness and passed out.

Screen Grabs: Your Guide to Free Local Internet - Cover Story - Washington City Paper
From the article:
Georgetown University’s Lauinger Library
The best place in the area for virtually unlimited, unmonitored computer use.
The real sweet spot is downstairs. Open 24 hours most days (closed between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights), the basement’s Gelardin New Media Center has roughly 65 computers with a basic version of Windows; the chairs are soft, the lighting not too bright, and the computers all come with keyboard wrist pads.
Also, get ready for sensory deprivation—if you spend too much time in the windowless Gelardin Center, it will start to feel like a dungeon.

Leslie Coffelt, my Grandfather's cousin, in an exhibit at the Smithsonian American History Museum
The description above his picture reads:On November 1, 1950, two Puerto Rican nationalists attempted to assassinate President Harry S. Truman. During an exchange of gunfire, Officer Leslie Coffelt of the White House Secret Service police was killed. Because of his actions, and those of the other agents involved, the attack on Truman failed. Courtesy of Department of the Treasury, United States Secret Service.

His picture and the information about his heroic act are part of the exhibit The American Presidency: A Glorious Burden at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

Candyland board game...now a museum artifact at the American History Museum.
You know you are getting old when things from your childhood are appearing as artifacts in museums.
In the picture, my nephew is laughing at my stunned surprise.
